2D and 3D scanner to detect defects on wooden doors

For the company Jeld-Wen, leader in the furniture sector, online systems have been created for compliance control and defect detection and defect detection on wooden doors..

The defects can be present both on the front and on the side of the doors and for this reason it was decided to design two different and independent systems capable of working simultaneously.

The first system uses 2D cameras and has the task of inspecting the front of the door, identifying any cuts, cracks or missing parts.

The second system uses 3D cameras and has the task of carrying out the same checks along the thickness of the door.

In the event of non-compliance detected, the system is notified to mechanically direct the door towards a dedicated line..
