Artificial vision systems drastically reduce the time needed for inspection and quality control, allowing to speed up production and increase profits.

With high resolution cameras, scanners and sensors it is possible to obtain high precision measurements and quality controls which is highly impractical by a human operator.

The operator cannot always guarantee constant quality control due to distractions and tiredness. Furthermore, there is a subjective component in the evaluation where the same piece could be rejected by two different operators.

It is not always possible to carry out quality controls: either because the spaces are too narrow, or because they are too dangerous. The vision systems have small dimensions and can be applied even in the most hostile environments.
