2D and 3D scanner for defect recognition on wooden doors
We have collaborated with Jeld Wen (leading company in the production of interior doors), for the creation of an in-line system for quality control and defect detection on wooden doors.
To be able to identify any possible defect, present both on the front and on the side, we have designed two different and independent systems. One system scans 2D on the main facade of the door, identifying any cuts or deficiencies, while the second system consisting of 3D cameras checks the thickness of the door.
If the system does not find any significant defect, the door is deemed suitable and continues through the production cycle, otherwise it is mechanically rejected by the system.
