System for calculating the 3D size of pallets

For a leading company in the logistics sector, a system was created for the dimensional control of pallets within an automatic line with the aim of being able to optimize their distribution in means of transport and therefore to reduce costs. 

During the passage on the conveyor belt, a 3D scan of the pallet is performed, and the associated barcode is read. 

The dimensions of the object are calculated from the acquired scan, while the barcode is used to archive the data in a manner compatible with industry 4.0.
